Projek Negeri Selat

Inspisred to update my blog after reading some blogs.

An update of last month event. Finally somebody decided to take my sis of the shelves.
Her ROM was on a Tuesday so I decided to do a bit of Jalan-Jalan cari makan trip during the weekend.

Started my journey on a Friday night after work.
First stop, Melaka Ban Li xiang satay celup. (Everyone tell me it's not nice, but well, I have to tried it for myself)

Well, The verdict: Not fantastic at all. I seriously won't go again. I feel like puking after that.

After that meal, my driver say he is tired so I took over the wheels where i meet a crazy BMW. Don't dare to drive too fast and yet won't let people overtake him.  Stupid.. A very tiring drive from Melaka to KL.

Reach KL, faster go to bed and rest to prepare ourselves for the next day activities.
Started the day with dim sum breakfast. ermm.. forgot the place name. Anyway, it's nice.
Then off we go for some shopping, massage then makan again... OF coz.. we will never leave booze out of our itinerary!

I got myself 3 1 Litre mugs in 1 night. (Basically we drank like 6 pints to get it)

Day 2
Woke up early in the morning! Grumpy!!!
Off  we go to LCCT. Early morning flight to Penang.

I would like to thank Mr. Bryan Lim for being such a good host... He picked us up from the airport and one of his suggestion for our very first activity is MINUM! Siao betul!

We went to this Wang Chao Jun for some steamed hor fun. I like it!

It was a really hot day. We went up hiding in Gurney Plaza to avoid the scorching sun. We went on a Tau Sar Piah searching mission after some coffee at Dome.

I went to this shop, Ghee Hian  that looks like its out to ketuk all the tourist. Very very attitude auntie inside.. (She told my friend not to open the Jar if they are not buying.)ANyway, they told us the tau sar piah are all sold out but they have some for the tour bus that arrived after us. IRRITATING! THIS SHOP IS BANNED!!!!

So we drove around in search of more tau sar piah but most of the shops are closed on Sunday.
Finally, we found this Dragon Pearl Shop.. Hidden Gem.. Their tau sar piah or rather known as the dragon pearl taste much better than Ghee Hiang

Task completed. Balik rest for our next stop.

Went to some places for dinner and drinks. Once again, my memory failed me.. I can't remember where we went. But we did go Straits Quay.. hahahaha

Next morning, wake up, grumpy. All because i did not eat my penang Char Kway Teow yet. As Bryan need to work, we do not have our personal tour guide anymore. So we went round walking around Bukit Jambul. With the help of foursquare, I manage to locate Penang laksa instead.

Slurp!

It is a sunny day. While walking back to the serviced apartment, we came across a cendol stall...
Makan time again.

 Cendol Pulut

After so many calories intake, i start to feel guilty. So of we went for a swim before flying back to KL. I was forced to do 10 laps in preparation for my OWD. Well, my strokes are getting better though. Thanks to Mr. Richard, my swimming coach.

After swimming, shower and it's time for lunch. Nearby the apartment there is this very famous 'Original Kayu Nasi Kandar'. Something i never try before as well. I usually have kopi or teh at Kayu but have not really eaten there.
RM13 Nasi Kandar!

After Lunch, balik KL for meet Gie's in-law dinner! (Gie's event will be in another posting)

Continue with projek negeri Selat after Gie's ROM.

Went to Kajang for their Hot & Spicy Soup for lunch. Our dear GPS, food directory is down this time. I have to search the place using Foursquare.  And we manage to find it!!!

Kee V Hua Diao Chicken(I miss it!)

The famous 'Lat Tong'
Careful, it's hot!

Stopped by Melaka once again before heading to Singapore for the famous Nadeje cake. I used to drool when i see people posting picture of it on facebook.

My Mango Mille Crepe @ Nadeje
Like what the shop says, one is never enough. So here is my 2nd Mille Crepe. Mocha Mille Crepe

Turning into a big fat ger!
Projek Negeri Selat is a success!

Will I have my sunnies back?

I left my Armani at the bistro yesterday.
I hope it is still there.
First of all, I like it very much.
More importantly, it is a gift from yin....

Please be there. I will make sure I call 'em up later!

Reunion Dinner

I joined my family members for the reunion dinner last saturday without knowing who is going, what is it for.

But I did ask whether there is this particular someone is going. My dad say no ( a lie) coz he jolly well know I will not go for the reunion dinner if he say yes.

Many people attended the reunion dinner. 8 tables.. and.. I think i dunno half of them. LOL...

Anyway, I don't like it! Although there are great prizes like iPad 2 to be won.
I rather go drink with my frens.

However, this reunion bring everyone home and we manage to do a surprise birthday party for didi.
The best part was when he cried!!!!!

Krabi 2011 PArt 1

This is a tripped planned since January.
Everyone is feeling abit down and so somebody pop out the idea of a all girls holiday.
As usual, everyone procastinate.. Think the active planners r Jackie and me.
I get everyone to book their air ticket first. That's the main reason why we manage to go holiday in the end. Coz, once you paid for the ticket, you will surely want to go.

By CNY everyone booked their ticket. Yes, we are going to Krabi!

Day 1
Waited 3 hours at the airport for those coming to kl. The miscommunication wasted our precious 3 hours. I was damn tired. Lack of sleep and the weather is so so so so hot!!! Start the day with Singha beer while waiting for them. The Krabi International Airport is so pathetic.. Nothing to do, tired, bored.. arggghh..

Went to the taxi booth for the price. The lady say she is giving us a 50 baht discount and ask us to keep our voice low. When Jackie arrived, I asked her to go bargain with the other company. I juz tell her 800 baht go! N haha.. we got it of coz. I think can be cheaper. Transportation in Krabi is so expensive!

Check in the stupid Aonang Cozy Place. Everything is different from what is posted on the website. There is no swimming pool. It is stated on the net that free wi-fi in room and yet they want to charge us 150 baht per room. I asked Jackie to save her breath talking to them since i already got the password from 1 of the staff there. Stupid! N the next challenge, no lift and we stayed on fourth floor.. Grrrrr.....

Anyway, we dump our luggage, freshen up abit and off we go to check out the place.

Our idea of resting. Iphone!!!

First thai food of the day, banana pancake!

Then we continue walking. N we r at the beach! Not breathtaking... dissapointed! :(

I like this! :P

After walking around, we settled for a 200 baht BBQ buffet at some place. Not nice at all... Den we continue walking in search of tour package. Published price is 1800 baht. We manage to bring it down to 1000 baht!! I really take my hats of Jen. She really can bargain.

After getting our tour package, Kelly went back to the hotel alone to sleep while the rest went for our very first Thai massage. Not very good I must say but well, it is less than $10.. so oklor.. The next mission, 'find a birthday cake!' It's really hard to find a small birthday cake in Aonang. Luckily there's still 2 left at 7-11.

After massage, we walked back to the hotel. This is the point where my migraine decides to attack me! Spoil my day. I showered, and try to sleep for awhile. Then its time for us to go celebrate yc's birthday at Coconut Bar. The most happening place in Aonang!

Happy Birthday Yee Chuan

I am a good girl that night. I drank Strawberry Lemon Shake.

Fireshow to entertain us!

Fire-eater cum live band singer

Complimentary birthday shot. mabuk, end of story.. balik tidur!

Road Trip Dec 2010 Part 2

Wakie wakie… first stop… McD brekie set… where I get my 1st dose of kopi. I tot I can chill and enjoy. He teruk 1 la… take me as air stewardess, every time he press the roof light… he expect service like aeroplane. I know driving is tiring la… but u must still respect the princess mar. Idiot… minus his points… or does he hv anymore points? Feed him la... get him water, etc…

Say la see sunrise… dun hv also… he is a cheat!!! Not his fault oso… slight drizzle and it was a cloudy morning. In his mind must be thinking if Cameron raining he jialat la… coz the trip consider spoilt. He drive quite fast also… it’s a holiday… can’t u juz relaks. Base on the itinerary… he try 2 make it exactly to the minute… siau 1… like kayu.

2 hours later, reach Tapah rest stop, go pee pee, strech legs abit… then get 100 plus, Pringles and some sweets. Damn crowd lo the stop, need to park a bit further… princess leh… ask me to walk… minus points again! Plus he too a stupid picture of me… say test camera… like I buy it *rolling eyes*

Moving from there we head to Tapah exit, which I also dun know where.. the road size like the Minyak Beku road la… 2 lanes, narrow… kampong houses at the side. Tat’s only the start, then it start 2 get zig zag here slowly climbing up the Titiwangsa range, where the road stick to the hill… meaning after the outer lane is the cliff. Some car hog the road like real vacation… my stressful driver cut only la.

Half way got waterfall, he say go take picture… damn mountain tortoise la he.. take oso 1 or 2 only. By the time we start driving… the road hog is in front again… too bad. Mountain tortoise kena stay behind the tortoise again. So he became lazy… summore off aircon and drive.

Reach some where he say too early to check in… so go yumcha… follow signboard ‘Boh Plantation’ turn into some narrower road.and zig zag again… but this time need to horn coz of blind corners (something new to me)… suddenly need to reverse and park aside… some tea lori driving from the opposite direction heading out… waited for 5mins.

Finally reaching the plantation… and tien gong shines on me… and the drizzle stops. Haha… this is only my first tien gong blessing… more to come. I tell you… the wind was damn chilling… especially after the drizzle. We spotted a trail which suppose to There was a trail up a hill around 200m. The guide look at me and say… u can ar? Of course la… who scared who… and off we went. The view up there is unobstructed with a reasonable amount of breeze. There is where my hood came in handy… =D

My stressful guide

aiks got pimples.. not nice

Her Royal Highness Princess

Spent around half hour shooting every corner of the hill and came down. Checked out the souvenir shop…. they only sell tea… tea… and more tea leaves. As we have burn some calories running up the hill, we grab a sandwich and a pot of tea to keep us warm. While I was sieving the tea a sudden breeze blew and the tea ended up every where… of course I jump out of my chair. Saw some angmoh kids warped up like bak chang… damn cute I tell u.

With all the wind blowing, the idiot guide with me was totally cold blooded, no rasa at all!!! While I need shield myself from the cold in bright orange cardigan, he slumber only in shorts. Minus more points!!! Maybe tat’s why his nicknamed lizard.

As we hop on the car, drizzle started again… told you about tien gong blessing me! We left the place heading out… cars start to come in… I tell you… the courtesy of the driver quite bad lor… give way also dun wan to wave thanks.

Next stop Tanah Rata… where we had our lunch in some Chinese coffee shop. Nuting great except tien gong blessing me again by stopping the rain when I get off and on to the car. Other than that, there was an old post office, starbucks (which I was force to pose for a picture), plus the traffic on the road was building up.

Time to check-in… and the guide over shoot the chalet’s entrance (minus points again). Once entered, the place look like the typical old English house… it was formally used as a school. Checking in got mixed up with another guest, which the transaction needed to be reversed. When they show us the room, we were to only occupant on that floor… and the floor creaks… sounds eerie ya. Time for a quick nap before continuing… must also pity my driver rite… my precious life in his hands leh.

Sleep half way ppl start checking in… the commotion waked me up… argh… me being a light sleeper… lucky not my driver snoring.. if not die la… in total we only managed to sleep for 1 hour. With the frustration, we decided to be on the move… next stop Kea’s Farm.

While heading to Kea’s Farm which I what place is that, the traffic was a stop and go at Brinchang. A detour and yet traffice is still crawling. Some of the Land Rovers cut the kerbs and go through… while the rest crawl along for 5km. Driver found a lot, straight away park, then walk a distance lor… wat to do

Kea’s Farm is just like pasar malam, with fresh fruits, strawberry, cactus, flowers and tongkat ali (thou only 1 miserable stall). We started looking for Angie’s chills. It looks like chilli popcorn which should really pop your mouth. We also bought some apple looking guavas and dried strawberries.

Before leaving, guide ask me to buy fried cendawan and fried ‘kim cam’ from a stall. It like soggy French fries only. After makan only realise that is ??. Thou fried, it taste cold. Conclusion, whatever food you buy at CH will turn cold out in the open, irregardless how hot was.

I dun like strawberry, but still the guide say part of the itinerary... then mar go lor. Had chocolate strawberry with ice cream. Siap makan, turn over to Equatorial Hotel looks see looks see… tien gong bless again… rain when I’m in the car, not when I’m outside. Or is it a sign to head back. Head back it is than. Jam jam jam back again to Brinchang town.

This time we park and buy water and coke for mixer. Guide hungry again… ask to eat steamboat.. tat was 6pm… a bit early rite?? Fine… I won’t complain yet... sat down only… kena garlic breeze… ewhhh… wanted leave… floor manager go remove it. It was a bucket full of garlic, size of a 5 litres mineral water. Food was served and a dumb waitress start to place the garlic out in the open again. This whole ding dong of in and out happen 4-5 times while I was eating. The best part when I was full, the thing came out… immediately I wanted to vomit. Quickly paid and went off.

By this time it was dark, and the breeze was still very chilly. My toes were exposed in slippers to the freaking breeze… argh… guide can only block the direct breeze but not the toes… faster into the car!!! I was relive once in the car… until the driver sabo me… he turn the a/c to blow feet before starting the engine (minus all the points!!!)… my poor toes… this time I really whack him kau kau.

Back to the chalet, had a quick shower and on the tele, nuting much except HBO. Pop a bottle of red wine and start playing scissors, paper stone… dice edition. This is where tien gong really bless me la… I won 15 / draw 4 / lose 1… haha loser!!!
